The way to Chitchen Itza is a hazy dream covered in dust and rocks seen from an air conditioned bus. People, like the indigenous plants that grow out of the barren dirt have carved an existence there. They live in the center of limbo. These dwellers are so close to the ancient pyramids, a remnant of one of the most advanced cultures of human history, but they struggle not to be engulfed by the overgrowth devouring the future.
